										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Last year, over 23,500 youth (age 10 to 24) were hospitalized for harm caused by substance use — the equivalent of 65 hospitalizations each day. A <a href="https://www.cihi.ca/en/health-professionals-express-concerns-over-rates-of-youth-hospitalizations-due-to-substance-use" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">new report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information</a> (CIHI) shows that cannabis and alcohol were the most common substances associated with hospital stays among this age group in 2017–2018.</p>
